Danao Fiesta In California 2000

DINNER-DANCE IN BUENA PARK, CA,

FIESTA-IN-THE PARK IN LONG BEACH

It’s DAUSA’s seventh year and Danawanons from all over United States will come to Los Angeles to observe a tradition honoring their beloved patron saint, Santo Tomas de Villanueva..

This year’s celebration will start with a 9-Saturday novena starting on July 15, 2000, in the home of Joel & Genna Capitan-Diamos in Northridge, California.

Expected to come and officiate holy mass during the Saturday novenas is Danao’s very popular former assistant parish priest, Msgr. Alfeo Manalili.

Culminating Fiesta 2000 is a big party on Friday evening. Sept. 8 hosted by Nick Gonzalez in L.A. Co-hosts are Marieta Palos, Soling Roble-Quirong, Arlene Gorre, Celsa Banzon and Drs. Plutarco and Gloria Almendras.

Then on Saturday, Sept. 9, a formal Dinner Dance will be held at the Sequoia Conference Center in Buena Park, CA. As in the past, men will be in black suits or barong and ladies will also be in their formal outfit.

Then on Sunday, Sept. 10, is Fiesta in the Park with a holy mass at 11:00 a.m., Long Beach Recreation Park, located at 4900 East 7th St., Long Beach 90804. Tel. 562-570-1670.

Also, the following Sunday, Sept. 17, the actual fiesta back home, is Danao City Fiesta in La Mirada hosted by Bobon and Genie Castillo and their Danawanon friends. A mass will be officiated by Fr. Art Abarca.
